The Happy Prince and Other Tales - Oscar Wilde Oh, these stories are so depressing! Yet, they’re so beautifully ironic. It’s wonderful. My absolute favorite is “The Nightingale and the Rose.” “The Selfish Giant,” “The Remarkable Rocket,” “The Fisherman and his Soul,” and “The Star Child” are equally excellent and captivating, each one brilliantly layered with juxtaposed opposites in terms of theme. It’s amazing the amount of sentiment and imagery Wilde captures within this compact medium.
